Blowin' in the Wind

How many roads must a man walk down before you can call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes and how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?

CHORUS:
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind

How many times must a man look up before he can see the sky?
Yes and how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes and how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?

(chorus)

How many years can a mountain exist before it is washed to the sea?
Yes and how many years can some people exist before they're allowed to be free?
Yes and how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn't see? (chorus)

CORN

CHORDS: C - Am Dm G7

What did we do when we wanted corn?
We plowed and we sowed till the early morn.
(Repeat)

Chorus:

For our hands are strong, our hearts are young
our dreams are the dreamin's of all ages long
(just a-dreamin' just a-dreaming along)

What did we do when we needed a town
We hammered and we nailed till the sun went down
(Repeat)

(Chorus)

What do we do when there's peace to be won
It’s more than one man can do alone
We’ll gather our friends from the ends of the earth
To lend a hand at the hour of birth

Bridge:

We'll plow, we'll sow, we'll hammer, and we'll nail
We'll work all day till peace is real.

(Chorus)

Dona

On a wagon bound for market, there's a calf with a mournful eye
High above him there's a swallow winging swiftly through the sky.

CHORUS:
How the winds are laughing, they laugh with all their might.
Laugh and laugh the whole day through and half the summer's night.
Dona, Dona....

"Stop complaining," said the farmer. "Who told you a calf to be?
Why don't you have wings to fly with like the swallow so proud and free?"

(CHORUS)

Calves are easily bound and slaughtered, never knowing the reason why,
But whoever treasures freedom like the swallow must learn to fly.

(CHORUS)

Greenback Dollar

Some people say I’m a no-count
Others say I’m no good
But I’m just a natural-born travellin’ man
Doing what I think I should, oh yeah
Doing what I think I should

Chorus
And I don’t give a damn about a greenbacked dollar
Spend it fast as I can
For a wailing song and a good guitar
The only things that I understand, oh yeah
The only things that I understand, poor boy

When I was a little baby
My mama said, "Hey son"
Travel where you will
And grow to be a man
And sing what must be sung, poor boy
Sing what must be sung
Now that I’m a grown man
I’ve traveled here and there
I learned that a bottle of brandy and a song
Are the only ones who ever care
The only ones who ever care

To cast me off discourteously,
And I have lovéd you so long,
Delighting in your company.

Chorus:

And who but my Lady Greensleeves.
I have been ready at your hand
To grant whatever you would crave.
I have both wagéd life and land,
Your love and goodwill for to have.

I bought thee petticoats of the best,
The cloth so fine as might be.
I gave thee jewels for thy chest,
And all this cost I spent on thee.

I Know You Rider

CHORUS:
I know you rider gonna miss me when I'm gone
I know you rider gonna miss me when I'm gone
Gonna miss your baby from rolling in your arms

Lay down last night, Lord I could not take my rest
Lay down last night, Lord I could not take my rest
My mind was wandering like the wild geese in the west

(chorus)

The sun will shine in my back door some day
The sun will shine in my back door some day
March winds will blow all my troubles away

(chorus)

I wish I was a headlight on a Northbound train
I wish I was a headlight on a Northbound train
I'd shine my light through the cool Colorado rain

(chorus)

If I Had A Hammer

If I had a hammer, I'd hammer in the morning,
I'd hammer in the evening all over this land.

I'd hammer out danger, I'd hammer out warning,
I'd hammer out the love between my brothers and my sisters,
All over this land.

If I had a bell,...

If I had a song. . .

Well, I've got a hammer, and I've got a bell,
And I've got a song to sing all over this land.
It's the hammer of justice, it's the bell of freedom,
It's the song about love between my brothers and my sisters,
All over this land.

Leavin' on a Jet Plane

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go.
I'm standing here outside your door,
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye.
But the dawn is breaking, it's early morn,
the taxi's waiting, he's blowing his horn,
Already I'm so lonesome I could cry...

CHORUS:
So kiss me and smile for me.
Tell me that you'll wait for me.
Hold me like you'll never let me go.
'Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane.
I Don't know when I'll be back again.
Oh, babe, I hate to go.

There's so many times I've let you down,
So many times I've played around,
I tell you now, they don't mean a thing.
Every place I go I think of you,
Every song I sing, I'll sing for you,
When I come back I'll wear your wedding ring.

(CHORUS)

Now the time has come to leave you.
One more time - let me kiss you.
Then close your eyes, and I'll be on my way.
Dream about the days to come when I won't have to leave alone.
About the time, I won't have to say...

(CHORUS)

One Tin Soldier

Listen children to a story that was written long ago,
About a kingdom on a mountain and the valley far below.
On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath a stone,
And the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own.

CHORUS
So go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing, come the judgement day,
But on the bloody morning after, one tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill,
Asking for the buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd kill.
Came an answer from the mountain, "With our brothers, we will share,
"All the secrets of the mountain, all the riches buried there." (CHORUS)

Now the valley cried with anger, "Mount your horses! Draw your swords!
So they killed the mountain people, and they won their just reward.
Now they stood beside the treasure on that mountain dark and red,
Turned the stone and looked beneath it. . .
"Peace on earth" was all it said. (CHORUS)

Puff the Magic Dragon

Chorus:
Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea
He frolicked in the autumn mist
In a land called Honalee
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff
And brought him strings and sealing wax
And other fancy stuff.

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail
Noble Kings and Princes would bow when'er they came
Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name

A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant's rings make way for other toys
One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar

His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane
Without his lifelong friend, Puff could not be brave
So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave.

This Land is Your Land

This land is your land, this land is my land;
From California to the New York island.
From the Red Wood Forest to the Gulf Stream Waters,
This land was made for you and me.

As I went walking that ribbon of Highway
I saw above me that endless skyway,
I saw below me that golden valley,
This land was made for you and me.

I roamed and rambled, I followed footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts,
While all around me a voice was sounding, saying,
This land was made for you and me.

The sun came shining and I was strolling
And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling.
As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting, saying,
This land was made for you and me.

TODAY

CHORUS:
Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine
I’ll taste your strawberries
I’ll drink your sweet wine
A million tomorrows shall all pass away
‘Er I forget all the joys
That are mine. Today.

I’ll be dandy
And I’ll be a rover
You’ll know who I am
By the songs that I sing
I’ll feast at your table
I’ll sleep in your clover
Who knows what tomorrow may bring.
(CHORUS)

I can’t be contented
With yesterday’s glories
I can’t live on promises
Winter to spring
Today is my moment
And now is my story
I’ll laugh and I’ll cry and I’ll sing.
(CHORUS)

Where Have All the Flowers Gone

Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long long time ago
Where have all the flowers gone?
Gone to young girls every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Substitute in

Where have all the young girls gone?
…. Gone to young men every one …
Where have all the young men gone?
…Gone to be soldiers every one …
Where have all the soldiers gone?

… Gone to flowers every one …
